Being aware of the amount of calories in your meal can really help on your health journey. Knowing how much your body needs and what´s in your food is a good starting point.
However, there is another important aspect which is nutrient density. Calories are not created equal. For example, half avocado has the same amount of calories as 2 pieces of bread, yet avocado is full of potassium, vitamin A, and folate, and bread has just empty calories. While it´s ok to eat something like bread once in a while, we encourage you to add nutrient-dense foods to each meal. That´s why most of our boxes contain animal-based protein and lots of vegetables.
